4 nabbed selling fake LPG in Manila

NCRPO – PBGEN Jonnel C Estomo, ARD, lauds the operatives of Regional Intelligence Division for the conduct of a two buy-bust operations on that resulted in the arrest of the suspects in Violation of Section 168.3 (a) R.A 8293 known as Intellectual Property Code.

Based on the report that reached the Regional Headquarters, at about 1:00 PM at JP Cuevas Enterprises Gas located at 265AH, Lacson Avenue, Sampaloc, Manila, operatives conducted the said police operation following a complaint from a representative of Isla Petroleum and Gas Corporation against the suspects for unauthorized selling of fake Solane LPG.

Through surveillance and lateral coordination, the operatives were able to arrest the suspects who were identified as Jhonnifer Cuevas Peduca, 39, at Joel Salavador Estonilo, 30.

Seized from the suspects’ possession and control were the following pieces of evidence:

A) Six (6) pieces of empty Solane LPG;
B) Three (3) pieces of filled Solane LPG; and
C) Fake bulb seals placed inside a sako bag.

Meanwhile, at about 1:30 PM at Ronald-Amie LPG Store 2171 Visayan Ave., Sta. Mesa, Manila, RID operatives were also able to arrest two other suspects involved in the same scheme. They were identified as Ronald Abela, 43, and Patrick Pedrosa, 20.

The conducted buy-bust operation led to the confiscation of thirty-two (32) 11-kilogram uncertified, uncalibrated and unsafe Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) lawfully under the license of Isla Petroleum and Gas Corporation.

All of the arrested suspects were placed under custody of the operating unit while pertinent documents are being prepared for presentation during inquest proceedings.

“The trust and confidence of the public in their police was the key in the successful conduct of this police operation that led to the arrest of the suspects.” said PBGEN Estomo

He added, “Ang iligal na pagbebenta at paggamit ng mga pekeng LPG na ito ay sadyang napakadelikado at maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa ating mga kababayan. Kung kaya’t binabati ko ang ating mga kasama sa kanilang mabilisang pag-aksyon na naging dahilan ng pagkakahuli sa mga nasabing suspek.”
