Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno welcomes OFW returnees at the newly opened hospital in the city.
MANILA City government reserved Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital for approximately 100 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are positive for COVID-19 disease.
Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso personally welcomed the 104 OFWs from different countries at the newly inaugurated hospital.
According to Domagoso, this is a simple reflection of gratitude for OFWs who give great help to the economy not only to Manila City but also to the whole country.
′′Ito ang aming pasasalamat sa inyo. I know it’s hard to be an OFW, of all the things and challenges of being an OFW, then there is a threat and stress on your job,” said Domagoso.
′′Even here we will reciprocate our concern here in Manila you are welcome. We will do our best to make you comfortable as much as possible,” he added.
Domagoso is with Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr, Bureau of Quarantine Director Dr. Obet Salvador, and Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano in the said welcome.
Domagoso assured OFWs families that their loved ones are in the good hands of Dr. Arlene Dominguez is now the head of Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital.
Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital has 344 bed capacity and has free services brought to patients such as X-rays, oxygen tanks, medicines, food, wifi, and aircon.
“The OFWs will now feel that our country loves them, our government loves them,” said Domagoso.
It will be remembered that the Manila city government also vaccinated approximately 20,000 OFWs for free this year to help them fly abroad for their respective jobs.
