PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the early release of yearend bonuses and a PHP5,000 cash gift for government workers, Malacañang announced today. The move aims to provide financial relief and boost morale among public sector employees as the holiday season approaches.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, over PHP63 billion has been earmarked for the yearend bonuses of civilian government workers and uniformed personnel. An additional PHP9 billion will be allocated for the cash gift, benefiting an estimated 1.85 million government workers nationwide. The early release of these benefits is expected to provide a significant boost to household incomes and stimulate economic activity during the Christmas season.
The directive from President Marcos Jr. underscores the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce and recognizing their contributions to public service. By providing this financial assistance ahead of the holidays, the administration hopes to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by government employees and enable them to enjoy a more festive and fulfilling Christmas season with their families.
