THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued special permits for 829 bus units in preparation for the 2025 elections. LTFRB spokesperson Ariel Inton stated that these permits are valid from May 9 to 18, 2025.
Inton explained that several applications were rejected due to failures in vehicle inspections, positive drug test results for some drivers, and outstanding show-cause orders against certain bus terminals. He emphasized that no permits were issued for the exclusive use of candidates or for transporting voters.
“No permits were issued exclusively for politicians,” Inton clarified.
The issuance of these special permits aims to ensure sufficient public transportation during the election period while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. The LTFRB’s strict adherence to its standards underscores its commitment to responsible transportation management during this crucial period.
