TWO Filipino tourists were killed and eight others seriously injured when their chartered coach overturned on a motorway en route to the Oktoberfest festival in Munich, Germany on Sunday.
Police in Upper Bavaria confirmed the accident occurred at approximately 04:00 GMT as the bus carried a group of around 50 Filipino nationals to the world‑famous beer festival. One victim died at the scene, while the second succumbed to injuries after being rushed to hospital, according to reports from German authorities.
Emergency services deployed about 250 personnel to the crash site, and the motorway was closed in both directions to allow rescue and investigation operations to proceed. The extent and nature of the injuries sustained by the eight seriously hurt passengers have not been fully disclosed, and authorities have not yet released the identities of those who died.
