ONE Filipino national has been listed among the missing persons following devastating flash floods that swept through parts of Nepal, according to an update released by the Nepal Tourism Board-Trade on Thursday.

The Filipino is one of 644 people officially reported missing in the aftermath of the deadly disaster, which has caused widespread destruction, loss of life, and displacement across the affected regions. The alarming figure was disclosed in the board’s Situation Update-3, which provides the latest assessment of casualties and persons unaccounted for.

Details regarding the Filipino national — including their identity, location, and circumstances of disappearance — have not yet been fully released. It remains unclear whether the individual was traveling, working, or residing in the areas hit by the flooding. The Philippine Embassy or Department of Foreign Affairs has yet to issue an official confirmation or provide further information on the case, as authorities work to verify the person’s identity and coordinate with Nepalese counterparts to locate and account for them.

The flash floods in Nepal have brought catastrophic conditions, with entire communities cut off, roads washed away, and communication lines severed in many areas. Rescue and recovery operations are underway but face immense challenges due to the terrain and ongoing adverse weather. Philippine authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely and provide updates on the missing national as more information becomes available, while also offering consular assistance and support should the need arise.
