LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Almost 200 Filipinos have been affected and left homeless due to the ongoing wildfire in Los Angeles, California.
According to Philippine Consul General in Los Angeles, Adelio Angelito Cruz, the number of Filipinos affected by the wildfire has reached 191 and is expected to increase in the coming days.
“Our latest count is 191, as 12 families have already sought assistance, and we expect this number to rise in the coming days,” Cruz said in an interview with GMA News.
Despite the situation, the official assured that the affected Filipinos will be transferred to evacuation centers where they will be safe.
Government officials are currently investigating whether the homes of the Filipinos who lost their homes in the wildfire are covered by housing insurance.
