Deputy Speaker Frasco joins Marcos at World Expo 2025, vows support

admin June 22, 2025

OSAKA, JAPAN — Deputy Speaker and Cebu 5th District Representative Duke Frasco accompanies President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to visit the Philippines’ pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan as he reaffirms his full support to the President.

Frasco joins President Marcos and other key officials in visiting the World Expo and other business meetings in Japan in a bid to strengthen diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties with global partners.

The high-profile visit underscores the strong rapport between President Marcos and Deputy Speaker Frasco, a rising figure in Congress now being considered among those being floated for the Speakership in the upcoming 20th Congress.

The Deputy Speaker again emphasized his continued support for the Marcos administration, despite emerging political divisions and shake ups within the House of Representatives and government.

“The role of the House is to advance national progress, not to deepen political divides. It must more clearly reflect the President’s call for unity, stability, and results. My commitment to the President’s vision remains firm, and I believe the House should be a proactive partner in delivering meaningful change for the Filipino people,” said Rep. Frasco.

Notably, Frasco did not sign the manifesto of support for Romualdez, the President’s cousin, signaling a potential shift in House alliances.

Frasco said he remains committed to supporting the administration’s priority programs, including the Philippines’ presence at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, led by his wife, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.

The secretary highlighted the strong reception to the Philippine Pavilion, which has welcomed over 300,000 visitors in just two months, calling it a true crowd favorite.

The Deputy Speaker said that their visit to the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo emphasizes the importance of championing Filipino identity and innovation on the world stage.

“As the Philippines takes center stage in this global platform, it is an honor to join the President in promoting Filipino excellence and forging international partnerships that will benefit our country and local communities,” said Rep. Frasco.

The Philippines Pavilion features the country’s heritage, creativity, and enduring spirit in the spotlight with the theme “Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together for a Better Future.”

“Our theme, ‘Woven Together for a Better Future,’ mirrors the very fabric of our aspirations under the Marcos administration—where every thread represents a Filipino, bound by a shared purpose for progress. In this spirit, I remain committed to strong, unifying leadership that advances the welfare of the Filipino people,” Rep. Frasco said.

The Pavilion, with its vibrant display of 212 indigenous fabrics from across the Philippines and dynamic live cultural performances, invites the world to discover the heart and soul of the nation—and the many reasons to love the Philippines.

The World Expo 2025, which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025 with over 150 participating countries and organizations, also marks a milestone in Philippine-Japan relations, as the two countries celebrate 70 years of diplomatic partnership.
