Bangladesh Air Force jet crash kills at least 16 at school

admin July 22, 2025

A BANGLADESH Air Force fighter jet crashed into the Milestone School’s Uttara campus in Dhaka, Bangladesh, resulting in at least 16 fatalities.

The plane, reportedly 12 minutes into its flight, crashed into the school canteen, igniting a massive fire that engulfed the building.

Emergency services are working to extinguish the blaze and recover victims from the wreckage, but the death toll is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue. The incident occurred while children were in class, resulting in a scene of chaos and devastation.

In addition to the confirmed fatalities, at least 150 people, predominantly children and students, sustained injuries in the crash.

Videos circulating online capture the moment of impact, showing the plane plummeting towards the building before the resulting explosion and collapse. Subsequent footage depicts the building completely destroyed by fire, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky.

Images and videos from the aftermath show children fleeing the scene in panic, while others desperately search for survivors amidst the debris.

The tragic incident has prompted widespread shock and grief across Bangladesh.

The scale of the disaster, with numerous casualties and injuries, highlights the immense human cost of the accident. Investigations are expected to be launched to determine the cause of the crash and to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The focus now remains on providing medical assistance to the injured and supporting the families of the victims as they grapple with this devastating loss. The country is rallying to provide aid and support to those affected by this catastrophic event.
