
FORMER president Rodrigo Duterte was arrested in Manila this morning, March 11, 2025, upon arrival from Hong Kong on charges of crimes against humanity.
In a statement released by Malacanang, it said the arrest followed the receipt of an official warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) by INTERPOL Manila earlier this morning.
Duterte and his entourage landed at 9:20 a.m. aboard Cathay Pacific flight CX 907. Immediately upon arrival, the Prosecutor General executed the ICC arrest warrant. Government doctors examined Duterte and confirmed he is in good health.
Philippine National Police (PNP) officers involved in the arrest were equipped with body cameras, ensuring transparency in the procedure. Duterte is currently in custody. Further details regarding his detention and legal proceedings are expected to be released shortly.
