PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) authorities are now on the hunt for foreign nationals believed to be behind a recently discovered kitchen-type shabu laboratory in Tanza, Cavite.
The discovery of the shabu lab followed a powerful explosion at a rented house on Leon Fojas Street, Barangay Sahud-Ulan, Tanza. Authorities believe two Indonesian nationals, a Chinese-looking individual, and a Filipina were involved in the operation. Following the explosion, the tenants of the house reportedly fled the scene.
Barangay Sahud-Ulan CCTV footage shows two men leaving the area first, heading towards Antero Highway, followed by two more men and two women.
PDEA estimates that the kitchen-type shabu lab could produce approximately 20 kilos of illegal drugs, based on the recovered drug paraphernalia, equipment, and suspected chemicals used in the production of shabu.
Authorities are preparing charges of violating Section 8 (Manufacture of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals) of Article II, Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. PDEA, PNP, and the National Bureau of Investigation are coordinating for potential follow-up operations.
