Owner of Takuri Cafe Daisy Cababasay.
IF you’re in Iloilo City looking for the best Laksa – a spicy street food noodle dish popular in Malaysia and Singapore – you can’t go wrong going to Takuri Café.
Owned and operated by gorgeous and accommodating Daisy Cababasay, her Takuri Café which serves Asian fusion food already made a mark on Iloilo’s map for serving its customers – tourists and locals — the best Laksa, said their ‘suki’ — in the whole of Western Visayas.
Laksa generally means Curry Laksa, is a curry and coconut milk soup base but Takuri Café’s version, according to its regular customers, is a match with those high-end restos in Manila.
The ingredients are modified but the flavor is still iconic and authentic.
Takuri Café also offers other bestsellers such as Nasi Lemak, Ayam Penyet, Mi Goreng, Fresh Vietnamese spring rolls and a line of desserts for the sweet tooth like cakes and pastries all at an affordable price.
The café located at Cuartero St., Jaro Iloilo City also serves Malaysian traditional coffee which comes after devouring those sumptuous foods which Daisy herself cooked.
Here are customer’s views about Takuri Café.
From Evelyn Dulay: “The Best LAKSA in Western Visayas. Very affordable, delicious and decorative meal. The owner is so charming and generous. It’s like eating in your own home sweet home.
From Jimenez Jecie: “ Sumptuous foods, homey ambiance, and the very accommodating chef/owner!!! Tita Daisy!!! ur like eating prepared by ur beloved nanay experience!!!
From Yu Jin Sato: “Korean, Viet, Thai, Singaporean, European, Mediterranean are a plenty…This is the 1st place I discovered to serve Laksa or a Malaysian noodle soup. One serving is good for 2to3pax so make sure you can consume the whole bowl. For a change from the above usual resto. I encourage you to explore the taste of Malaysia. For me, I have been to Malaysia but this is the closest taste we have here in Iloilo. Try and compare and enjoy the flavors. Its location may be a challenge..and the parking area is limited…however, I am there for the food. hehehe. I enjoyed it!”
From Ryn Pendon: “One of the best foods I ate here in Iloilo. Typically I dont eat Asian cuisine especially if I am on domestic trip. Because I want to enjoy the local foods, but this one gives me a “wow” experience.”
Takuri Café is open Monday to Saturday, 11am until 7pm.
