OUR very own Jolibee chicken joy has made it to the number one spot as the “Best Fried Chicken in America!”
Jollibee’s iconic “chickenjoy”, with its “juicy-licious, crispy-licious” taste has progressively gained more fans overseas winning over defeating 15 global brands of chicken chain stores.
According to Eater.com, a food website by Vox Media co-founded by Lockhart Steele and Ben Leventhal in 2005, Jollibee Chickenjoy bested Bonchon half-and-half.
Lesley Suter, Eater.com Special Projects Editor described Jolibee’s chickenjoy as having a “subtly seasoned skin” and the chicken itself was “satisfyingly light, flavorful in a ‘tastes like chicken’ sort of way, and supremely moist.”
She also acknowledged Jollibee’s signature gravy, as well.
“It (the gravy) is more than just an optional dunk; it completes the dish, gelatinous in a way I can only describe as naughty, while proudly showing its Filipino colors with a hefty dose of sugar,” Suter stated.
Jollibee Group’s President for Philippine Brands in North America Maribeth dela Cruz welcomed the recognition.
“We are honored that our beloved Chickenjoy has been named as among the best fried chicken in the US,” she shared.
“At our core, Jollibee is all about serving great-tasting food and bringing the joy of eating to everyone, and we are glad that more and more people around the world are discovering the joy of our crispylicious, juicylicious Chickenjoy.”
Dela Cruz said that there are 83 Jollibee stores in the US with another one just opened at the Times Square in the Heart of New York City on NYC today, August 18, 2022, and more than 1,500 restaurants worldwide.
During the second quarter of this year the Jollibee Group, which consists of Jollibee, Chowking and Red Ribbon has sold a total of P73.1 Billion.
The first Jollibee fried chicken store opened in Daly City, California on June 13, 1998 and a chain of stores followed over the years in different parts of the states.
