VICTORIA Theilvig from Denmark emerged victorious at Miss Universe 2024, triumphing over 124 other contestants in a three-hour pageant held in Mexico. Sheynnis Palacios relinquished the crown to the new titleholder, marking a historic win for Denmark.
Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria secured the 1st runner-up position, with María Fernanda Beltran of Mexico, Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, and Ileana Márquez of Venezuela following closely behind.
On the other hand, Chelsea Manalo, representing the Philippines, concluded her journey for the Miss Universe crown before the Top 12 selection. Despite making it to the Top 30, Manalo’s bid marked the end of the Philippines’ two-year streak of advancing to the first cut in Miss Universe competitions. Last year, Michelle Dee from the Philippines reached the Top 10.
Manalo had aspired to become the fifth Miss Universe titleholder from the Philippines after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
