ACTRESS Carla Abellana has admitted that a Philippine court has recognized her divorce with actor Tom Rodriguez, which the latter sought in the United States.
“We are divorced. Recognized na po yan ng korte, ng local court natin dito (It is recognized by our local court),” Abellana said in an interview over ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda ‘ on GMA.
The local court’s recognition of a foreign decree is necessary, she added.
The actress tied the knot with Rodriguez in October 2021, but they split up less than a year later.
In June 2022, Rodriguez, an American citizen, said their divorce decree was final.
Abellana also said in the interview with Abunda that she is “free from the pain”.
