ACTRESS and TV host Maine Mendoza has issued a strong defense of her husband, Rep. Arjo Atayde, and his family against recent corruption allegations.

In a statement released on social media, Mendoza addressed the accusations, criticisms, and judgments directed at her husband and their family.

Mendoza asserted that their life has not been built on taxpayers’ money and that everything they have comes from years of work and savings.

She emphasized that they pay their taxes truthfully and are financially capable of sustaining their lifestyle outside of politics. Mendoza expressed offense at being accused of spending money they have rightfully earned.

Mendoza stated that she would never accept the narrative that accuses them of stealing and living off taxpayers’ money.

She defended her husband’s integrity, stating that he has never crossed the line of stealing from people. Mendoza acknowledged that the current allegations and stories being spread online may appear different to some, but urged the public to remember that perception is not always reality and that narratives can be twisted easily.

She concluded by stating that Arjo has nothing to hide, has never been guilty of stealing, and will clear his name by proving his innocence through due process.
