FILIPINO talent Matty Juniosa concluded his remarkable run on Season 19 of Britain’s Got Talent in fourth place last Saturday (UK time), capping a journey that had already made him one of the season’s standout stars after earning not just one, but two Golden Buzzers.
For his final performance before millions of viewers, the UK‑based singer delivered a powerful and emotional rendition of Sinéad O’Connor’s classic hit “Nothing Compares 2 U,” showcasing the vocal skill and artistry that had captivated both the judges and the public from his very first audition.
Following his finale act, Matty received high praise from the judging panel. Judge Alesha Dixon described his performance as “effortlessly sensational,” commending his ability to convey deep emotion while hitting every note with precision. Simon Cowell was equally impressed, calling the number “absolutely brilliant.” “I think we have all fallen in love with you from the minute we first met you,” Cowell remarked. “Your personality, your talent, and you’re not afraid to take on these big songs. I think you couldn’t have done any more, genuinely.”
Matty had established himself as a strong contender early in the competition, earning his first Golden Buzzer from Sofia Vergara during the auditions — a moment that automatically sent him through to the semi‑finals.
He reached even greater heights in the next round, receiving his second Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden, which secured his spot in the grand finals. In the final tally of votes, the Hawkstone Farmers Choir took home the top prize and the public vote, followed by drone art collective Celestial in second place and dance duo Anastasiia and Salsa in third. Although he did not win the top spot, Matty Juniosa has undeniably won the hearts of audiences worldwide, proving himself a world‑class Filipino talent on an international stage.
