LIZA Soberano has officially confirmed that she and Enrique Gil ended their romantic relationship three years ago.
The actress made the revelation in an August 14 episode of the YouTube podcast-documentary “Can I Come In?”, hosted by filmmaker Sarah Bahbah.
Soberano described Gil as her first love but admitted that she had been longing to share the truth about their breakup. The former couple, known as the LizQuen love team, had kept their separation private at Gil’s request, initially due to a shared reluctance to accept the reality of their split.
Soberano explained that she feared the impact of their breakup on her career and the potential loss of fan support. She acknowledged that the LizQuen love team had been instrumental in helping her overcome financial hardships and escape past abuse, providing her with a sense of security and protection.
The actress also revealed that she and Gil had developed feelings for each other even before they were officially paired as a love team. Despite public denials and indirect debunking of breakup rumors by Gil in the past, Soberano’s confirmation now brings clarity to the status of their relationship, years after speculations first surfaced.
