RABIYA Mateo, former Ms Universe-Philippines candidate, is facing a cyber libel complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation for allegedly criticizing her doctor who performed surgery on her nose.
The doctor (name withheld) said Mateo allegedly criticized him on Facebook over the supposedly botched rhinoplasty.
The doctor said the derogatory statements were posted on a Facebook account that he learned belonged to Mateo.
He said the Facebook account exposed and ridiculed his name with “foul description.”
According to the complainant, the former beauty queen underwent rhinoplasty in an aesthetic clinic in Mandaluyong City on December 17, 2023.
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the shape of the nose, and may be done for aesthetic purposes or to improve one’s breathing.
Mateo was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020. After her stint in the pageant, she entered showbiz and has appeared in various television shows.
