POPULAR comedian and television host Wally Bayola is in stable condition following a motorcycle accident that occurred on March 29 in Camarines Sur.
The incident happened while Bayola, 53, was traveling with a group from Metro Manila to Naga City.
According to reports from News 5 and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Lupi Fire Station, the accident occurred when Bayola’s motorcycle struck a pothole on Andaya Highway in Barangay Bel-Cruz, Lupi, causing him to fall and sustain several injuries.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders found Bayola conscious but with multiple abrasions on his upper and lower extremities. Initial assessments indicated a possible injury to his right leg, which was causing limited mobility.
The BFP Lupi team provided immediate wound care, stabilized the affected areas, and carefully prepared him for transport. He was subsequently taken to the Bicol Medical Center for further evaluation and medical management.
In a concerning development, the BFP-Lupi station reported two additional motorcycle accidents in the same vicinity within a few hours of Bayola’s incident. Both involved individuals traveling separately, who also sustained multiple abrasions. However, these individuals opted to refuse further hospitalization after receiving basic first aid and wound care at the scene. The recurring accidents in the same area raise questions about road conditions and safety measures on Andaya Highway.
Later, on March 30, Bayola’s co-hosts from the TVJ team (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon) shared an update on their official Facebook page, confirming that Wally is now in stable condition. They assured the public that, despite some minor cuts and bruises, he was safe and recovering well. The TVJ team also took the opportunity to remind everyone to exercise caution while traveling, especially on the roads.
