THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) will be deploying more K9 units to MRT-3 and LRT stations in Metro Manila, replacing X-ray machines to alleviate congestion.
DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon inspected the bomb-sniffing dogs at the Philippine Coast Guard K9 Facility in Clark, Pampanga.
According to Dizon, removing the X-ray scanners from MRT-3 stations will help reduce queueing times.
The DOTr will also install AI-enabled CCTV cameras to enhance security without delaying passengers.
