DAGUPAN City, Pangasinan is expected to experience a dangerous heat index level on Wednesday, March 12. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius.
The heat index is a measure of how hot it feels to humans, taking into account both air temperature and humidity. A heat index between 42°C and 51°C falls into the dangerous category, posing risks of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
Meanwhile, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City is expected to have a heat index of 40°C, while Science Garden in Quezon City is forecast to reach 38°C.
