THE Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 298 has ordered Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II to remain in Senate custody while his petition for a writ of habeas corpus is being heard. The court will continue the hearing on his petition on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Discaya was cited in contempt for allegedly lying about his wife, Sarah Discaya’s, absence from the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on September 18, 2025. The hearing was related to alleged anomalies in flood control projects across the country.
The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is investigating potential corruption and irregularities in the allocation and implementation of flood control projects.
Discaya’s testimony, and that of his wife, are considered crucial to the investigation, given their alleged involvement in these projects. The contempt charge stems from the committee’s belief that Discaya misled them regarding his wife’s whereabouts and reasons for not attending the hearing.
