THE group of rallyists and anti-riot police clashed after they were blocked from entering the Mendiola Bridge in Manila on the 52nd anniversary of Martial Law.
Carrying shields for protection, the anti-riot police tried to push back the rallyists who wanted to approach Mendiola while barricaded.
A male rallyist was reportedly pushed down, but it is not clear if he was arrested.
To conduct a brief program, the rallyists set up a mobile stage on Recto Avenue as they couldn’t reach Mendiola.
Militant groups not only staged protests in Manila. Some groups also gathered at Welcome Rotonda and EDSA.
