Business sector to regain 100K more jobs under Alert Level 2

admin November 8, 2021

TRADE and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez said as much as 80 percent of businesses have returned now that the NCR is under Alert Level 2.

Lopez reported that business revenues are gradually returning, with some businesses regaining at least 50 percent of revenues pre-pandemic.

Lopez added that with the gradual return of revenues, business owners will employ their workers once again thereby giving jobs and income to many.

The DTI chief said a total of 1.8 million individuals have been affected by the loss of employment because of the strict community quarantine classifications that have been implemented before. And with the lowering of the alert levels, Lopez is hoping to regain some 100,000 more jobs under Alert Level 2, with some P3.6-billion revenues to be expected per week, per the National Economic and Development Authority, said Lopez.
