SENATOR Nancy Binay said that she filed complaint against Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for insulting her during a public hearing.
On July 3, the two senators had a heated argument during the Senate inquiry led by Cayetano on the increased cost in the construction of the new Senate building in Taguig City.
“Hopefully [between] 10:30 and 11 a.m. I hope there would be no more changes so that I can file it immediately,” Binay said in a text message when asked if she would proceed with the filing of the complaint against Cayetano.
Senator Francis Tolentino heads the Senate Committee on Ethics.
Binay said Cayetano insulted her during the hearing which she claimed the latter conducted to go after her family once again.
She slammed Cayetano for calling her names such as “nabuang” (gone crazy) and “Marites” a street lingo which means “gossipy” or “nosy.”
Cayetano conducted the probe as chairman of the Senate Committee on Accounts overseeing the expenses of the Senate.
