SHERWIN Meneses, head coach of the Creamline Cool Smashers, has vehemently denied rumors circulating on social media regarding his potential departure from the team.
Speculation intensified following Creamline’s PVL Finals loss to Petro Gazz and their eighth-place finish in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League. Rumors suggested a coaching change, with team captain Alyssa Valdez potentially taking over as a playing head coach.
Meneses dismissed the rumors as untrue, stating, “It’s not true. It’s just gossip,” He added, “I don’t know what Rebisco’s statement was on that issue, but it’s just an issue. Management will decide on that.”
For now, the situation remains unchanged for the Philippine volleyball’s winningest club. An insider confirmed that there are currently no such issues within the Cool Smashers. The team’s focus, according to Meneses, is on rest and recovery after a grueling six-month season spanning the PVL and AVC competitions.
“Everything is normal. It’s just vacation. That’s all we’re thinking about, taking a vacation,” Meneses said. However, this much-needed rest may be short-lived, as Meneses is also the coach for National U, who are set to compete in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball finals for the fourth consecutive year.
