THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed charges against two independent contractors in connection with the alleged rape of actor Sandro Muhlach.
According to Super Radyo dzbb, prosecutors filed one count of rape through sexual assault and two counts of acts of lasciviousness against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz with a Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC).
The charges were filed after prosecutors found prima facie evidence, with reasonable certainty of conviction, to hold Nones and Cruz liable for the crime. The case has been raffled to Pasay RTC Branch 115.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Muhlach and the National Bureau of Investigation with the DOJ in August.
While Nones and Cruz denied the allegations in their counter-affidavit, the DOJ panel of prosecutors found that all elements of sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness were present in the case. The panel also determined that the element of force and intimidation was established by Muhlach.
