A LAWYER was shot dead inside a car parked outside her home in Abra on Thursday afternoon.
Lawyer Maria Saniata Alzate was killed by two men riding in tandem who immediately left after the attack.
The victim died after she was rushed to the hospital.
The Abra Provincial Police Office is conducting an investigation to identify the suspects and motive behind the shooting.
The attack also marked the first recorded shooting incident in Abra since the implementation of the Election Gun Ban. —
IBP CONDEMNS KILLING OF ABRA LADY LAWYER
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines Northern Luzon has condemned in its strongest possible terms the killing of lawyer Maria Saniata Liwliwa Gonzales Alzate in the afternoon of Sept. 14, 2023 in Bangued, Abra.
The victim was inside her private car parked in front of their house on Santiago Street, Zone 3, when the assailants shot her at close range.
The victim died while being treated for gunshot wounds at the Seares Memorial Hospital in Bangued.
Alzate is the wife of former Raphiel F. Alzate, former acting presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 in Ilocos Sur, and the RTC Branch 58 in Abra.
