A MAGNITUDE 7.3 earthquake jolted Abra on Wednesday morning and was felt in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, said Phivolcs.
According to Phivolcs, the quake occurred at 8:43 a.m. and was located at 17.63°N, 120.74°E – 002 km N 20° east of Lagangilang in Abra. It had a depth of 025 kilometers.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at Intensity IV in Quezon City, PHIVOLCS said.
The tremor was measured at a magnitude 7.1 some 11 kilometers east southeast of Dolores town, Abra, according to the US Geological Survey. It had a 10-kilometer depth, the US agency said.
Aftershocks and damages are expected.
