Port of Limay boosts border protection, seeks AFP, PNP support

CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan — Meaning business in their campaign versus smuggling and lawless elements, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) led by District Collector Atty. William Balayo has further boosted and enhanced their operational capabilities and improves border protection. Owing to this, the BOC Port of Limay recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment and institutionalization of the 1Bataan Inter-Agency Action Center (1Bataan-IAAC).

The MOA signing was held at the Multi-Purpose Covered Court of Camp Tolentino, Capitol Compound, Balanga City, Bataan and was attended by the BOC Limay District Collector Atty. William Balayo, Bataan Provincial Governor Albert S. Garcia, Police Regional Office 3, Regional Director PBGEN Valeriano De Leon, now transferred at Camp Crame; and Northern Luzon Command AFP, Commander LTGEN Arnulfo Marcelo B. Burgos, Jr. Based on the MOA they signed, it stipulates for the quick and rapid response to public health and safety emergencies as well as suppression of crimes, insurgencies, and threats.

The MOA between the BOC and the 1Bataan-IAAC truly embodies the Bureau’s commitment to provide efficient customs service to every Filipino.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero and the Port of Limay headed by District Collector Atty. Balayo, remain committed in providing efficient customs service to every Filipino, and will continue to undertake reforms, initiatives, and programs to improve performance of mandates.
