Boc-Clark donates 6,357 liters of unmarked diesel fuel to Coast Guard

admin July 13, 2022

AIMED at providing additional resources to support maritime operations, the Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark donated 6,357.8 liters of diesel fuel to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) last July 08, 2022.

The turn-over was conducted at the Port of Clark compound. Attending in behalf of PCG is Task Unit One Stop Shop Subic Commander CG LTJG Eunica Marie Tomioka while the Bureau of Customs was represented by District Collector Alexandra Lumontad.

Also in attendance is Deputy Collector for Operations Jesus Llorando, Chief of Auction and Cargo Disposal Unit Atty. Eleazar Rabanes and representatives from Enforcement & Security Service (ESS) and Customs Intelligence & Investigation Service (CIIS).

The subject unmarked fuel was seized by the Port of Clark in September 2021 through the implementation of Letter of Authority (LOA) issued by Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero. Subsequently, a decision was issued by the port declaring the shipment forfeited in favor of the government for violating Section 7 of DOF-BOC-BIR Joint Circular 001.2021, prescribing the Implementing Guidelines for Field Testing under the Fuel Marking Program.

Through the provisions of R.A. No. 10863 otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) and with the approval of Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary, the donation intends to assist the PCG in its maritime search & rescue, safety and security operations.

The Bureau of Customs, under the leadership of Commissioner Guerrero, continues to support the public and the government by ensuring strict implementation of rules and regulations relative to the fulfillment of its mandates.
