PNP honors rookie cop’s bravery vs kidnappers

admin June 29, 2022

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) mourns the untimely death of rookie police who died in an armed encounter with kidnappers on June 14, 202,2 in Pililia, Rizal.

Patrolman Joshua Linggayo was brought to the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds in relation to the incident. But a few days after, on June 27, Linggayo was declared dead by his attending physician while undergoing medication at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

“The entire PNP family would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased police officer. He will surely be remembered for his bravery in fighting criminality even up to his last breath. He was true to his commitment to fulfilling his mission as a law enforcer to serve and protect the people,” PNP OIC Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.

Danao assures that the assistance and benefits will be given to Linggayo’s family.

His show of courage yielded a positive result with the neutralization of the two kidnappers responsible for the kidnapping of a student and a businessman.

It can be recalled that as early as 2002, the PNP waged an all-out war against kidnap for ransom groups, however, remnants of these illegal groups have been resurfacing due to financial reasons.

Danao pacified the public, “I have this clear mandate to our Anti-Kidnapping Group to sustain our active intelligence gathering and operation against these criminal-minded individuals to suppress any attempt to launch illegal activities. Linggayo’s sacrifice will not go into vain.”
