NOW it can be told.
DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is running for vice president in 2022 presidential elections.
Duterte-Carpio was represented by her lawyers in filing her certificate of candidacy on Saturday ahead of substitution deadline under Lakas-CMD, a party she just joined earlier this week.
This, after Lyle Uy of Lakas-CMD withdrew his COC for vice president and named Sara as his substitute. Uy refused to comment further when asked by reporters after filing withdrawal as Lakas-CMD candidate for vice president

Atty. Charo Munsayac filed for Sara’s COC on her behalf before the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Duterte on Tuesday withdrew her reelection bid for Davao City mayor; on Wednesday, she resigned from Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the regional party she founded in 2018; and on Thursday, she joined Lakas-CMD, the political party of powerful ally Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Albay Rep. Joey Salceda, in an earlier interview, said Duterte-Carpio had already made up her mind to run for president as early as May.
