IF she has her way, incoming vice president ‘Inday’ Sara Duterte-Carpio has a thing or two to teach so-called traditional politicians and she has particularly enjoined those who secured their respective victories in the recently concluded national and local elections to end all political divisiveness so our country can move forward.
Expected to be appointed by president-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. as his secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) when they are sworn into office on June 30, Duterte-Carpio is appealing to his fellow poll victors to stop politicking and instead set an example to promote unity and cooperation in the whole country.
“During the campaign, I said that after the elections, we must forget the colors that have become the hallmark of our politics,” she said lamenting the country’s political polarization.
“Since the campaign and elections are over, it is time that we forget the colors that make us disunited. Let’s end politicking,” President Rodrigo Road Duterte’s daughter stressed.
The outgoing Davao City mayor advised that all incoming elected officials should take the lead in ensuring that all Filipinos—and not only their supporters—are provided efficient government services.
She called on her supporters to be magnanimous in victory by taking the lead in reconciling with those who supported their political opponents, namely vice president Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo and former senator Francisco ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan as well as the other candidates who lost in this year’s polls.
“We are the ‘Sana All’, tayo ang ‘Sara All’. We have to be magnanimous because we are 31.5 million voters. We need them so that we can become a 100-percent nation,” she pointed out with a big smile on her face.
“You are the winner here. I am just your candidate, your instrument. You brought me to this point in my political career, to serve the people and our country,” she enthused.
“Because of you, I am here,” she quickly added.
“Bongbong Marcos needs our support now more than ever as the next president of the Philippines, so he can fulfill his mandate,” she also followed through to conclude her appeal to the Filipino people.
