MARIKINA City 2nd District Rep. Miro Quimbo is calling on constituents to monitor the implementation of P742.32 million in upcoming infrastructure development projects to be funded by the proposed 2027 national budget, stressing that public oversight is critical to eliminating substandard work and “ghost” projects in the congressional district.
According to Quimbo, making project details public fulfills his transparency pledge and empowers constituents to hold officials and contractors accountable.
Quimbo published an online list breaking down the proposed fiscal year 2027 projects by allocation and page number in the House General Appropriations Bill, enabling residents to cross-reference the budget document.
Among the listed major projects are the P32.493-million construction of the Bayabas Pumping Station in Barangay Nangka, the two-phase rehabilitation of Champaca 1 Creek in Barangay Fortune totaling P45 million, and three improvement projects along Tumana Creek worth P215 million.
The proposal also includes P22 million for the rehabilitation of Park 23 Creek in Barangay Marikina Heights and P44.826 million for improvements to Balanti Creek in Barangay Concepcion Dos.
The veteran lawmaker said the disclosure continues an initiative started last year, when his office published the district’s infrastructure projects for 2026.
“We do this because it is our duty and because our constituents deserve to know where their taxes go,” Quimbo said.
