LEAD House Prosecutor Atty. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro emphasized Saturday that the comprehensive forensic report presented by financial analyst Atty. Alexander Cabrera substantially strengthens the prosecution’s unexplained wealth case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Speaking at the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City, Luistro said Cabrera’s work systematically integrated cash transactions, property records, and business income data from 2022 through 2025 to arrive at a total of ₱817,874,867 in undeclared assets and income attributable to Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases “Mans” Carpio. “Let us remember that Atty. Alex Cabrera is an expert witness,” Luistro noted, underscoring the credibility of his methodology and findings.
Cabrera’s review extended far beyond the couple’s official salaries to include financial activity linked to entities such as Metro City Chow Foods Corporation, Cale88 Foods Corporation, and GenCorp Industries.
The annual breakdown showed ₱190.63 million in 2022, ₱167.34 million in 2023, ₱264.22 million in 2024, and ₱195.69 million in 2025 — figures calculated to exclude overlapping or carried‑over balances to prevent double‑counting. Luistro highlighted striking anomalies, including ₱41 million withdrawn within roughly one hour, as well as credit card purchases that appeared inconsistent with the modest public image the Duterte family has projected.
The prosecution also pointed to specific transactions — a ₱205,007 charge at Ginza Inakaya in Tokyo, same‑day purchases totaling ₱299,142 at Nike outlets in Davao, and a ₱256,882 purchase at Nike Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur — alongside ₱11.35 million in checks issued to the family’s dentist and Carpio’s business partner. Luistro contrasted these with accounts of the family eating at simple eateries and street food stalls, remarking: “This is entirely different from the picture that they depicted for us to believe.”
She also noted that GenCorp, listed in Duterte’s SALN, was found to hold interests in five Jollibee branches rather than the single outlet previously cited.
Impeachment trial spokesperson Ace Barbers stated the data confirms a pattern of deliberate omission from sworn financial disclosures. “There was a willful and deliberate concealment of material information in the SALN,” Barbers asserted, framing the evidence as proof that the Vice President knowingly withheld critical details about her actual financial standing. The prosecution is expected to rest its case shortly after completing its presentation under Article II of the impeachment complaint.
