The Olympic and world champion posted an average score of 14.599 — scoring 14.733 on his first attempt and 14.466 on his second — to finish atop the podium ahead of competitors from across the continent. His compatriot Juancho Miguel Besana placed fifth with an average of 13.783.
Yulo’s victory in the vault event comes just one day after he secured the Philippines’ first gold of the Games in the men’s floor exercise on Thursday. The back‑to‑back triumphs reinforce his status as the country’s premier gymnast and a consistent medal threat on the international stage. Iran’s Mahdi Olfati took silver with 14.533, while Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Ki rounded out the podium with 14.116.
With these two golds, the Philippines has so far earned two gold, one silver, and four bronze medals at the 2026 Aichi‑Nagoya Asian Games.
