HOUSE Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III on Wednesday formally presented to Japanese Ambassador Kazuya Endo a copy of House Resolution No. 1274, which recognizes the enduring friendship between the Republic of the Philippines and Japan and commemorates the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Authored by Speaker Dy, Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos, and 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino C. Libanan, the resolution was adopted by the House of Representatives on August 4. It honors seven decades of reconciliation, cooperation, and partnership between the Philippines and Japan, while reaffirming the commitment of both nations to deepen collaboration in pursuit of shared peace, prosperity, and progress.
The resolution cites Japan’s longstanding contributions to the Philippines through infrastructure development, economic cooperation, disaster resilience, education, cultural exchanges, environmental protection, and security cooperation. It also recognizes the strong parliamentary ties between the House of Representatives of the Philippines and Japan’s National Diet, as well as the enduring people-to-people connections that continue to strengthen bilateral relations.
Speaker Dy personally turned over a copy to the Government of Japan through its Embassy in Manila as a symbol of the House’s appreciation for one of the Philippines’ closest and most enduring partners.
