HOUSE Assistant Majority Leader and Bulacan Rep. Agatha Paula Cruz on Tuesday hailed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.‘s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), saying it offered hope and a clear direction for the country’s future through reforms that directly address the needs of ordinary Filipinos.
Cruz said the President’s legislative agenda reflects a strong commitment to easing the burden on Filipino families while sustaining economic growth.
“The President’s SONA delivered hope and direction by focusing on reforms that improve the daily lives of Filipinos,” Cruz said.
She welcomed the President’s call to expand income tax exemptions, remove the minimum corporate income tax on small businesses, grant tax amnesty, and eliminate systems loss charges that increase electricity bills.
“These measures will provide meaningful relief to workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs who continue to face rising living costs,” she said.
Cruz also commended the Chief Executive’s firm position on defending the country’s sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea.
“His unwavering stand on the West Philippine Sea affirms that our sovereignty will always be protected while we pursue peace through international law,” she said.
The Bulacan lawmaker said the House of Representatives is ready to act on the President’s priority measures.
“Congress will work with urgency to translate this vision into laws that create jobs, lower costs, and improve the lives of every Filipino,” Cruz said.
