AUTHORITIES are actively pursuing suspects involved in a brazen robbery-holdup at a jewelry store located inside a mall in Buhangin, Davao City, which occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The incident saw the perpetrators make off with valuable jewelry items before making a swift escape.
According to initial investigations, the suspects entered the mall and declared a holdup at the jewelry store. After forcibly taking an undisclosed amount of jewelry, they fled the scene on scooter-type motorcycles. Personnel from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) were immediately dispatched to the mall, where they secured the area and initiated follow-up operations. These efforts include a thorough review of CCTV footage, the collection of vital evidence, and forensic processing of the crime scene.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) have successfully collected multiple fingerprints from the scene, which are now undergoing analysis in an effort to identify the perpetrators.
In a significant development, authorities have also recovered several motorcycles believed to have been used as getaway vehicles by the suspects. These vehicles are currently undergoing further examination as part of the comprehensive investigation. The DCPO has launched an intensified manhunt operation, employing intelligence-driven tracking, checkpoints, and dragnet operations to apprehend those responsible.
DCPO Director, Colonel Peter Madria, assured the public of the police’s unwavering commitment to solving the case. “We assure the public that the Davao City Police Office is relentlessly pursuing this case. We will exhaust all efforts and resources to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. Criminal elements have no place in our city,” Madria stated.
