A 15-year-old girl, who had been missing for five days, was discovered deceased on Monday afternoon, hanging from a tree within a private compound in Barangay Santolan, Pasig City.
The Pasig City police confirmed the grim finding, which has prompted a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to an initial statement from the Pasig City police, responding officers found a decomposing female body at the scene, matching the description of the reported missing minor, Isabelle Sophia Tablate. The body was found with a white nylon cord looped around the neck.
While the teenager’s father, JR Tablate, identified the body as his daughter, who was last seen heading to a mall in Marikina City on March 18, the police stated that further confirmation through DNA analysis and dental records will be conducted.
The discovery of Isabelle’s body has sent shockwaves through the community and her family, who had been desperately appealing for information regarding her whereabouts. Her father had taken to social media last week to share her photo and details, pleading for public assistance in finding her. The family’s anguish is palpable as they await definitive confirmation and seek answers regarding the tragic events that led to their daughter’s death.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case. While the initial scene suggested a possible suicide, police are not ruling out other possibilities and are meticulously examining all evidence. The Pasig City police have committed to a comprehensive probe to uncover the truth behind Isabelle Sophia Tablate’s untimely demise and to provide closure to her grieving family.
