Two killed, four injured in Parañaque City shooting incident

admin March 5, 2026

TWO individuals lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred in Parañaque City on Wednesday night, police confirmed on Thursday.

According to Parañaque City Police chief Nicolas Piñon, the victims were playing basketball when a 59-year-old gunman, armed with a 9mm pistol, suddenly opened fire in the area. The incident was captured on security footage, which showed the shooter entering the basketball court and firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene.

“Yung gunman ay residente ng isang unit doon sa residential building na yun… Isang unit owner po,” Piñon stated, indicating that the suspect owns a unit within the same residential complex.

He further explained, “Base dun sa footage ay bigla lang po siya pumasok, pagbaba niya sa kanyang unit, bigla lang siyang pumasok sa basketball court at doon namaril,” highlighting the suddenness of the attack.

Police have launched a hot pursuit operation in coordination with local barangays, as the suspect left the building compound and walked away immediately after the shooting. Authorities already have information about the shooter and are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the attack.

Meanwhile, the four injured victims are now in stable condition and receiving medical care. The incident has raised concerns among residents regarding safety and security in the area.

Azure Property Management issued a statement expressing their cooperation with law enforcement efforts. The management emphasized their commitment to the safety of residents, stating, “Management is fully cooperating with the police and remains committed to supporting the ongoing investigation. The safety and security of all our residents continue to be our highest priority.”

They also assured support for the victims and their families, working with authorities to ensure they receive proper care during this difficult time.

Police continue to investigate the incident, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to apprehend the suspect and uncover the full story behind the shooting.
