PALACE Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro has sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to report an alleged “threat” she received from a Facebook page.
The move underscores the seriousness with which the government is taking potential threats against its officials.
According to Castro, her decision to report the matter to the NBI was driven by a need to ensure her safety and security. “I really have to report this matter because if something happens to me, at least the people who are floating these kinds of grave threats are reported,” Castro stated, emphasizing the potential danger she perceives from the online activity.
The NBI will now investigate the reported threat and attempt to identify the individuals behind the Facebook page.
The investigation will likely involve tracing the origin of the threat, analyzing the content of the Facebook page, and potentially interviewing individuals connected to the page. The outcome of the investigation will determine whether charges will be filed.
