Speaker Dy reasserts commitment to transparency, urges unity ahead of 2026

admin December 31, 2025

SPEAKER Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III on Tuesday reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and restoring public trust as the House of Representatives prepares to welcome the new year.

The Speaker from Isabela made the statement in a video message posted on the Chamber’s official Facebook Page a day after the House adjourned after ratifying the P6.793-trillion national budget for fiscal year 2026.

As the year draws to a close, Dy urged reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to public service.

“Sa ating mga kinatawan ng bayan, salamat sa inyo pong sipag, talino at kakayahang makinig kahit sa gitna ng hindi pagkakasundo,” he said, noting that democracy remains strong when differences are met with dignity and respect.

He also paid tribute to House employees, whom he described as the quiet pillars of the institution.

Addressing the public, the Speaker acknowledged their growing frustration and the demand for accountability.

Looking ahead to 2026, Dy called for unity, respect, and compassion despite differing views.

“Let us be the sources of unity, not division. Let us speak with clarity, not confusion. Let us choose to heal, not to wound,” Dy said.

“Hindi man tayo laging magkakasundo, nawa’y mananatili tayong magalang, makatao at may malasakit.

Anchoring his message on faith and hope, the Speaker cited Scripture.

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

Dy concluded by wishing the nation a hopeful and principled new year.

“As we welcome the year 2026, may it bring us renewed hope and deeper faith. May it give us the courage to do what is right and the kindness to do it with love.”
