THE Regional Trial Court (RTC) in the National Capital Judicial Region (NCJR) Branch 265 has issued an arrest warrant for Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil of Porac, Pampanga, on seven counts of graft. The charges are linked to the operation of Lucky South 99, an online scam hub operating in the town.
The warrant, dated November 28, was signed by NCJR RTC Branch 265 acting Presiding Judge Josephine Advento, who set bail for Capil’s release at P90,000. The charges stem from Capil’s alleged involvement in the operation of Lucky South 99, a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub.
Lucky South 99 was initially presented as a legal online gambling facility. However, it was raided by authorities in July of last year, revealing its engagement in human trafficking and other illegal activities. Despite these findings, the facility remained largely operational until President Marcos ordered the closure of all POGO hubs in July 2024.
