EDUCATION Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar has resigned from his post after being linked to alleged irregularities in infrastructure projects, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced Tuesday.
“We confirm that Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar has formally submitted his resignation to the Palace,” said DepEd chief media relations officer Dennis Legaspi.
Olaivar’s name surfaced during a Senate hearing when former public works undersecretary Roberto Bernardo implicated him in an alleged kickback scheme involving infrastructure projects. Olaivar had previously denied the accusations and stated his willingness to cooperate with any and all proceedings.
