FOLLOWING the filing of HR No. 435, Rep. Elijah “Eli” San Fernando of Kamanggagawa Partylist has expressed concerns regarding the accountability clearance of Former Rep. Zaldy Co.
In a press statement issued on November 11, 2025, Rep. San Fernando stated that he spoke with staff members who disclosed information about the matter. Their primary concern is that they might be caught in the middle of the flood control anomaly issue, which should be focused on key individuals involved, such as former representative Zaldy Co.
The staff members, according to Rep. San Fernando, have no other desire than to protect the integrity of the House of Representatives and its employees who are faithfully working and fulfilling their duties.
They believe that any form of clearance given to a public official involved in any anomaly or scandal is an insult to the institution and a disservice to government workers who are sincerely performing their duties.
