A CLOSED van accident on the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) in Tarlac City resulted in five fatalities and nine injuries after the vehicle crashed into a metal fence.
The incident occurred in Barangay Balingcanaway on Tuesday morning, according to a report from GMA Regional TV News.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Rainier Mercado, Tarlac City police chief, stated that the driver reported losing control of the steering wheel, causing the van to veer off course and collide with the metal barrier.
The victims were reportedly traveling from Caloocan City to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, with initial assessments suggesting that the van was traveling at a high speed, estimated between 80-100 kilometers per hour. The families of the victims have yet to release a statement.
