A LARGE boulder rolled down from a mountain onto Kennon Road in Camp 7, Baguio City at 1:15 p.m. today, July 19, 2025, crushing a house and a car.
The incident occurred amidst intermittent heavy rains associated with Severe Tropical Storm Crising. City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Charles Bryan Carame reported that no human injuries occurred as the house and car were unoccupied at the time.
The family residing in the house had preemptively evacuated due to the typhoon, and the car was parked nearby.
However, a dog, an exotic bully breed, was killed in the incident. Camp 7 barangay officials are currently monitoring the area for further potential hazards.
The Baguio City District Engineering Office, along with CDRRMO and barangay officials, responded to the scene. The case has been referred to the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Office to provide assistance to the affected property owners. As of 4 p.m., Kennon Road remained closed due to continuous rockfall at the rockshed entrance, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways Cordillera.
